Aseke is a Norwegian maker and stockist of chain and steel components for fish farming, lifting, shipping and sea fishing, family-owned since 1927. INFIGO built its site, and it is the oldest thing in this portfolio still doing its job.
01 · The context
An industrial catalogue, before we were a WordPress studio.
This one predates the WordPress practice. In 2014 the right answer for a bilingual industrial catalogue was CMS Made Simple, so that is what it was built on. The site has outlived the platform choice being fashionable, which is roughly the point.
The customer is an industrial buyer: someone specifying chain to a standard for an aquaculture installation, or sourcing shackles for a lift. They do not browse. They look something up.
02 · The build
Catalogue, two languages, and news the company posts itself.
- A catalogue organised by product family, readable by someone who already knows what they are looking for.
- Norwegian and English, structural rather than translated on afterwards, because the customer base is a coastline rather than a country.
- A news section the company runs itself, carrying the certifications, equipment and standards that industrial buyers check.
03 · The long haul
Twelve years, still the site.
There is no more interesting way to say it. It was built, it was handed over, and it is still the company’s site more than a decade later, still being updated by the company. Not every project needs to be revisited. Some of them just need to have been built properly the first time.
What we delivered
- A bilingual industrial product catalogue.
- A company-managed news section for certifications and equipment.
- A build that has stayed in service since 2014.
