Wave Kompetanse runs boating licence courses across Norway - by their own banner, the country’s biggest, with courses every week, all year. INFIGO built the site they sold those courses through.
01 · The context
A course business is a logistics business wearing a marketing site.
Selling a course is not like selling a product. The inventory is dates and rooms in cities across the country, it expires weekly, and the customer’s question is never just “is this good” but “is there one near me, soon.” A brochure site cannot answer that; a schedule dressed as a brochure can.
There is also a second audience: the nervous one - people worried about an exam. What removes their hesitation is not design flourish, it is a plain promise that the course prepares you properly - stated where they can see it.
02 · The build
A finder at the centre, formats around it.
The site leads with the choice that actually segments the audience - classroom, webinar or online - and then delivers everyone to the course finder: filter by city, see the dates, sign up. Campaigns plug into the same machinery, a seasonal banner pointing at the same tables, so a January discount is a content change rather than a rebuild.
Course pages carry the reassurance layer: what the course covers, what happens on exam day, and the promises that make signing up feel safe. WordPress underneath, so the schedule and the campaigns stayed in the client’s hands.
03 · The long haul
Replaced, eventually, as working sites are.
The site has since been rebuilt by others, which is the normal end of a run rather than a failure of one. The version shown here is the one we built and the one that did the selling in the meantime.
What we delivered
- A WordPress course-sales site for a national course provider.
- A city-filterable course finder wired for direct signup.
- Format and course pages structured around removing exam anxiety.
- Campaign mechanics that reuse the same booking machinery.
