Søve

Søve is a Norwegian maker of playground and outdoor equipment with a catalogue of almost two thousand products. INFIGO built the WooCommerce store - and, more importantly, the system that kept that many products consistent.

01 · The context

Two thousand products, kept straight

At two thousand items, the hard part of an online store is not listing things - it is keeping every one accurate and letting a visitor actually find the one they need. A catalogue that size punishes any process that relies on someone updating products by hand, so the data had to be managed at the source.

02 · The build

A PIM, not just a storefront

We built the store on WordPress and WooCommerce with custom extensions, and the extensions are where the value is. The system ran as a PIM - Product Information Management - the central source of product data for the whole operation. It drove the storefront, generated the product data sheets, and exported to other systems, so each product was described once and stayed consistent wherever it showed up.

That source of truth is what made the rest of the build work: the faceted filtering stayed trustworthy because the data underneath it was, and the PDF sheets were always current because they were rendered from it on demand. The site has since been replaced by a build that is not ours; the PIM-first shape is the part we would do the same way today.

What we delivered

  • A WooCommerce storefront built from the supplied design.
  • A PIM layer: one central product source feeding storefront, documents and exports.
  • Faceted filtering across a catalogue of roughly two thousand items.
  • Automatically generated PDF data sheets for every product.

A store built around how the equipment is bought

Playgrounds, training and activity parks, street and park furniture, safety surfacing - the storefront opened on the categories a municipality or a landscaper actually budgets for, with the photography showing the equipment in use.

Filters that survive two thousand products

Category, series, free text and a price range, narrowing a catalogue of nearly two thousand items with live counts per group. At this scale the filter is not a convenience - it is the difference between a catalogue people use and one they abandon.

A data sheet for every product, on demand

Each product generated its own PDF data sheet from the same central data: photos, description, dimensions, materials, mounting time, certifications. Nobody maintained two thousand documents by hand - the source of truth produced them.
